When fitting the rear window (Part 102A) into the body (Part 101A) during Step 102.7, you may find that the window is quite a tight fit.
This is expected. The rear window can be fitted successfully by following the correct order below.
How should I fit the rear window?
It is important to fit the bottom of the window first before securing the upper tabs.
- Position the rear window 102A into the body 101A.
- Make sure that all three tabs along the bottom of the window are fully inserted into the corresponding notches in the body.
- Check that the window is correctly aligned and sitting evenly.
- Once all three lower tabs are correctly positioned, carefully and evenly press the top of the window into place.
- Continue applying gentle, even pressure until the upper tabs locate correctly.
When positioning the window, remember to thread the LED wires 53D through the semicircular notch in the window, as shown in the assembly instructions.
The rear window feels very tight – is this normal?
Yes. The fit can be quite tight, particularly when securing the upper section of the window.
The fitting has been checked and can be completed without damaging the window, provided that the lower tabs are correctly positioned first.
Do not try to secure the top of the window before all three lower tabs are correctly located, as this can make the window more difficult to fit.
Take care during installation
Do not force one side of the window if the other side is not correctly positioned.
Instead, check that:
- All three lower tabs are correctly seated.
- The window is centred and evenly aligned.
- The LED wires are routed through the correct notch.
- Pressure on the upper section is applied carefully and evenly.
If the window does not fit after checking the alignment, carefully remove it and recheck the position of the lower tabs before trying again.
Good to Know
A tight fit during this step does not necessarily mean that the rear window or body part is faulty.
Correctly positioning all three lower tabs first is key to successfully completing Step 102.7 and reducing the risk of damaging the window during installation.
